Creation of additional bedroom in the roof space achieved by adding a rear flat roof dormer. This was achieved structurally using a steel beam at ridge height to support the existing and new roof. A new floor at second floor level was also added to accommodate the required loadings as a habitable room. This was supported on new steel beams at floor level concealed within the eaves. The new dormer was constructed in timber frame.
